As crazy as it sounds, a fan filmed the S.C.H.K. show at Sao Borja (R/S), then cut it into a film clip… then sent it to us!!!! And we rekon it’s GREAT!!! Ya gotta love ya fans huh??!! It’s filmed from in front, right in the middle of the mosh pit (so it looks like a war correspondent diving to the ground to miss the bomb blasts!) but it gives a real cool idea what it’s like to be at an S.C.H.K. show!... we’ve put it on the website… on the download page so go there now and download!!!

Well we are at the end of the residency and we wanna thank the few thousand that passed thru the doors this month. PUPILAS DILITADAS (one of Porto Alegre’s original punk bands) fittingly closed down the residency. Simon sang a version of SONIC REDUCER with the guys and the bar went wild!!!..... There were plenty of smiles, plenty of shouting, pletnty of moshing, and I’m sure plenty of well earned hangovers (not to mention a few Technicolor yawns!!!) Thanks to all the bands that played!! And we’ll see everyone soon!!!

A new residency has been organised for all the SATURDAYS in APRIL!!! that's 5 saturdays chock full'o more PUNK, RAWK'N'ROLL than you can poke a stick at!!! This time in the very PLUSH bar called THE CAVE, The shows are downstairs in a converted cellar, but the place has been totally set up for shows and is LUSH!!! Kicks off at 11pm , every show will also include an invited band to keep the party rockin' till the early hours!! Of course like always, before, during and after the bands will be rolling the VERY BEST of 60's detroit, 70's & 80's punk, and even some new stuff!!! tracks like MC5, SONICS RENDEVOUZ BAND, MISFITS, BUZZCOCKS, RAMONES, CLASH, AC/DC, ROSE TATTOO, HELLACOPTERS, MOTOSIERRA, GLUCIFER, TURBONEGRO... you get the idea right??

Joey scored the nickname Mr T.N.T. from MOTOSIERRA and we all pissed ourselves!!!... “I pity the fool!!”…….. but anyway, the shows with our Uruguayan brothers were RAWKIN’ and we all had a blast!! We played at the Revival Rock Bar in Caxias do Sul, ate the WORLDS BIGGEST hamgurger! Thanks to Jaime Rocha, then went up to the TULIP BAR in Florianopolis!.. What a beautiful city that place is!!! The show was really GREAT!..... without a doubt one of the best moments of our band so far!, also it was the debut of our bands new line up. WECOME to the birth of new HIPPY KILLER: RAFAEL VESTERLON … the New Drummer!!! It was real great to play to an international Audience and Simon said everything in Portuguese and then repeated in English… man that was funny… he said “our future is OUT THERE” and it’s true S.C.H.K. IS TRULY AN INTERNATIONAL BAND!

The Social Forum is where Porto Alegre gets flooded by a bunch of smelly HIPPYS from all over Europe and a bunch of do-gooders who think they can come up with the answers to save the world… they’re here for 5 days, speak no Portuguese and expect the locals to understand everyword they say….. sometimes they even shout!!..... as in louder = more understandable…..Well, we dunno the date yet but it’ll be in Jan 2005 and it’s gonna ROCK!!! … yeah…. Kyoto Protocol, Blood for oil…Man, I’d better get practicing my patter now!

Thanks to everyone who went to the Show at the REVIVAL BAR!!!!!
The night started with an AC/DC cover band playing ONLY BON SCOTT tunes.... (nothing at all with the "new guy" singing!), man that guy sounds just like Bon, and thre band smoked it's way through Dirty Deeds, TNT, Walk all over you, girls got rhythm and more!!! Next was JUDIT, who did a pretty good job of rocking themselves and finally yours truely! We got onstage and showed Caxias what Rockin' is REALLY like!!!
Still without a drummer we had the help of Didi Gloor (ex TEQUILA BABY) again... man did he smack those f#@kin' drums around!! and RODRIGO DE NIRO was back helping out again too on guitar. It was a great crowd there to see a night of RAWK'N'ROLL... CAXIAS is a ROCK city!! It's like the DETROIT of Brazil!!
We're gonna come back just as soon as our mommies let us!!! so stay tuned!!

Thanks to Jacques Maciel for some rippin' solos, Thanks to Nery Vatos (original Hippy Killer) who returned to jam out a few basslines!! and Thanks to our new Lead Guitarist RICARDO ADAMATTI, who, after joining the band just days before the show learned a handful of jams to come a pop his Hippy Killin' Cherry!!!!

SIMON CHAINSAW GETS AIRPLAY ON MTV BRAZIL!!!
Simon is currently on rotation on MTV BRAZIL with the song AIN'T NO RIGHT OR WRONG from the forthcoming disc "TOLD ME A LIE". The song is a collaboration with SAO PAULO based band FR!LA. Simon and the band got together late last year and recorded the song. An idea was born to make a clip featuring FR!LA's life in Sao Paulo and Simon's life on the road, with the 2 entities meeting in a rockin' union. It's a fast moving clip and each time you watch it you catch something different. Check out the clip on the download page NOW!!

The posters proclaimed "LEGEND OF AUSTRALIAN UNDERGROUND", the citys major newspaper called Simon "ONE OF THE PRINCIPAL NAMES IN AUSTRALIAN PUNK".... Radio and television interviews preceeded the show. The club was small, packed, hot and LOUD!!! SIMON CHAINSAW & THE HIPPY KILLERS, with Flying V and Firebird guitar team, rocked for a good hour and a half with screams for encores. The band belted out tracks from Simons solo catalogue with some well chosen covers from Dead Boys, Sonic Rendevous band, Foo Fighters, Bad Religion and AC/DC!!!! HIPPY KILLERS RETURN!!
Simon has returned to Brazil and reunited the HIPPY KILLERS. Already they have played at the CBGB's of Porto Alegre "Dr JEKYLL". The lineup is almost original seeing only the lead guitarist change. But the team ROCK, check out the live Photos here. The new SIMON CHAINSAW AND THE HIPPY KILLERS "TOLD ME A LIE" is due out in JULY. Brazilians can expect to see this band in their city soon!

NEW VIDEO CLIPS!!
Simon has just finished producing 2 video clips!! "I WAS WRONG" (from the BASTA album) ans "AIN'T NO RIGHT OR WRONG" featuring participation from Brazilians FRILA (from the forthcoming "TOLD ME A LIE" disc). Both clips are expected to be BONUS multimedia tracks on the "TOLD ME A LIE" disc.
SIMON CHAINSAW/HOLY CURSE EURO TOUR POSTPONED
Unfortunate news is that the proposed double bill tour has been postponed until the end of 2003. Some of you will remember the dynamic union of the 2 entities on the Nova Express disc "KAISER BORDELLO". Although on this tour Simon will have his own band featuring ex members of Aussie legends NEW CHRISTS. Meanwhile HOLY CURSE are getting RAVE reviews about their new disc "BLUER THAN RED"

OK, It's taken a while but the site is finally updated!!! just about every page has something new or has been streamlined. The ORDER page has a new easy order system to save everyone from headaches, and there's a few new links on the opening page. I'll be updating the download files so you get a taste of the new tracks in MP3 format and there's more lyrics to sing along....Enjoy and return regularly as more news takes place!!!

NEW DISC PLANNED!!!!
A new disc will be recorded in July in FRANCE for French label NOVA EXPRESS and plans to be released around October! Simon recently was featured on a split CD on NOVA EX. along side Holy Curse among others. The disc will feature 13 new tracks. According to Simon " the new tracks are all written jammed and ready to Roll!! I'll be getting together with some great French musos and importing some of my guys from Germany. The tracks are really great punk... clocking in at 2 or 2 1/2 mins per track on average it'll have you hitting the replay button before you know it!!! but don't worry, there's plenty of space for the trademark hard edged solo action"
Also Simon will visit germany to mix ROCK'N'ROLL URANUS which he recorded late last year!!!

RECORDS WITH N.Y.PUNK LEGEND SONNY VINCENT!!!
Simon met up with old buddy and N.Y.scene punk legend SONNY VINCENT. Sonny known for his pioneering days in the TESTORS, was in Berlin laying down tracks for his all star guitarist disc, when he ran into Simon. A quick invite was all that was needed and Simon strapped on his SILVER SURFER SG and layed down a cranking rhythm track.

Simon Chainsaw has teamed up to record with French legends HOLY CURSE!!!! The plan is to record 6 tracks for a split CD with 2 other rockin' French Bands. As we speak the guys are in the studio deep in the wine country of France and one suspects that there is a little more "tasting" going on than recording!!!
The tracks will be released on French label NOVA EXPRESS late 2002

Simon met up with Scott Morgan at a HYDROMATICS show in Paris and, along with Eric from HOLY CURSE (pictured below), enjoyed alot of after-show banter. The show was a blistering affair and Scott lived up to his reputation as the toughest Rock'n'Soul soldier in the war against the jive!!! Simon was real wrapped and got a REAL COOL autograph (see below!!)

Latest News 10/2000 update
Currently on tour with Marky Ramone and the Intruders. Started the tour as guitar tech and soon became a special guest singing with the tour support band Forgotten Boys. The tour takes in everywhere from the deep south to the north east to Manaus in the Amazon!!!! and then down thru Argentina.

Simon is back in Australia and putting a live band together to promote his Bad Ass Roadshow CD due out in early 2000!!!!

News 8/'99
The latest news is that Simon Chainsaw is currently travelling around the globe!! Trying to satisfy both his travelling and musical urges Simon has spent the last 9 months combining both in what looks like becoming a year long trip. Playing and promoting his material in every country that he has been to. This includes Japan, USA, Brazil, England, France and back to the USA.
In Brazil he played acoustic shows in Rio, Sao Paulo and Cabo Frio.
Simon plays to an intimate listening party in Chicago August 1999
In Japan he was spotted cranking out a set in Tokyo and in France he was playing for baguettes at one of the cites alternative hangouts.
While In the USA in early 1999 Simon teamed up with Steve Gardner (GAMMA MEN, NOISE FOR HEROES zine/web)in San Diego and recorded the 1st CHAINSAW MEN CD and while in Chicago(July)dropped into the "quarter to one" studios and laid down 15 new tracks as preproduction for his first solo album to be recorded in Sydney late 1999.

And when the Cosmic Psychos toured the states Simon joined them onstage in Chicago for a blistering version of the bands classic "custom credit" (a song which the vanilla chainsaws used to cover and will also appear on the new compilation/live CD out in Brazil thru TronadorMusic.)
At time of press Simon was just about to head across the Atlantic to the UK and Europe where he will continue with his promoting. He will be attending the Germany's prestigious POPKOMM music conference in Cologne in August then heading to France where he will record tracks with local band and newcomers Turbolove. This recording will be featuring Al Creed (New Christs) on lead Guitar.
His newest group "Simon Chainsaws Badass Roadshow" (also featuring AlCreed on lead guitar) had to postpone a string of European dates scheduled for Sept/Oct 1999 due a delay in the release of the CHAINSAW MEN's "electric juju" CD.
